Kia Sorento 2026 Price in India: Best Variants & Features.

Last updated: October 9, 2026. All prices are introductory ex-showroom (Delhi) figures from the launch price list and can change.

The Kia Sorento 2026 is finally on sale in India, and it changes what Kia sells here. For the first time, Kia has a premium three-row SUV above the Seltos and Carens, its first hybrid, and a hybrid that comes with all-wheel drive. Prices start at ₹27.99 lakh for the base diesel and go up to ₹40.39 lakh for the top hybrid AWD Black Line.

This guide covers the Kia Sorento 2026 price, variants, engines, features, safety, rivals and who should actually buy it.

Kia Sorento 2026 at a Glance

Price (ex-showroom) ₹27.99 lakh to ₹40.39 lakh
Engines 1.6L turbo-petrol strong hybrid, 2.2L diesel
Gearbox 6-speed automatic (hybrid), 8-speed DCT (diesel)

The Indian model is the facelifted fourth-generation (MQ4) Sorento, refreshed globally in 2023. It sits on Kia’s N3 platform, which is a monocoque design, so it is a comfort-first family SUV rather than a body-on-frame off-roader.

Kia Sorento 2026 Price in India

The Kia Sorento price in India starts at ₹27.99 lakh for the HTE diesel and ₹29.49 lakh for the HTE hybrid. Here is the 7-seater price list by trim:

Variant Diesel 7-seater Hybrid 7-seater
HTE ₹27.99 lakh ₹29.49 lakh
HTE(O) ₹29.49 lakh ₹30.99 lakh
HTK ₹32.49 lakh ₹33.99 lakh
HTK(A) ₹33.49 lakh ₹34.99 lakh
HTK(A) Black Line ₹33.69 lakh ₹35.19 lakh
HTX (AWD) ₹37.49 lakh ₹38.99 lakh
HTX Black Line (AWD) ₹37.69 lakh ₹39.19 lakh
HTX(A) (AWD) ₹38.49 lakh ₹39.99 lakh
HTX(A) Black Line (AWD) ₹38.69 lakh ₹40.19 lakh

Two patterns are worth knowing. First, the hybrid costs a consistent ₹1.5 lakh more than the diesel at every trim. Second, the 6-seater (available from HTK upwards) costs ₹20,000 more than the equivalent 7-seater, which puts the top 6-seater hybrid Black Line at ₹40.39 lakh.

On-road prices will be well above these figures once registration, insurance and cess are added, so check a dealer quote for your city. If your budget is lower, our guide to the best cars under 20 lakh in India covers the strongest options below the Sorento’s range.

Kia Sorento 2026 Engines, Hybrid System and AWD

The Kia Sorento 2026 comes with two powertrains.

  • 1.6L Turbo GDI strong hybrid: a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine (180 PS, 265 Nm) paired with an electric motor (65 PS, 264 Nm) and a 6-speed automatic.
  • 2.2L diesel: 193 PS and 442 Nm with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Both offer Eco, Normal, Smart and Sport drive modes. The hybrid is the Sorento’s headline feature: it is Kia’s first hybrid in India, and Kia says it is the only model in the segment to combine a hybrid powertrain with all-wheel drive. AWD cars add Snow, Sand and Mud terrain modes.

One thing to note: the launch information I found lists the petrol engine and motor outputs separately and does not give a combined system figure or an ARAI mileage number. Ask the dealer for the certified fuel-efficiency figure and read the official Kia India website before you decide on hybrid versus diesel.

Size and Design

The Sorento is big. It measures 4,815 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,785 mm tall (with roof rails) on a 2,815 mm wheelbase. Kia positions it as the longest and widest SUV in its class.

Design highlights include the Digital Tiger Face grille, Crystal Cube LED headlamps, Star Map LED DRLs and tail lamps, satin chrome skid plates and a hidden rear wiper. There are eight colours: Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Gray, Imperial Blue, Magma Red, Pewter Olive, Ivory Silver Gloss, Aurora Black Pearl and a matte Dark Gun Metal. The Black Line trims add blacked-out badging and dark 19-inch alloys.

Kia Sorento 2026 Interior, Seats and Tech

Inside, the Kia Sorento 2026 gets a curved panoramic display with two 12.3-inch screens, one for the instrument cluster and one for infotainment. Other cabin highlights:

  • Kia AI Assistant with real-time generative AI, debuting globally on this India-spec Sorento
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Head-up display, digital rear-view mirror and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof
  • Ventilated front and second-row seats, with 10-way power adjustment for the front passengers
  • Rear AC vents with independent controls for the third row, plus sunshades on the rear doors
  • Smart dashcam, 64-colour ambient lighting and a 220V power outlet
  • Kia Connect 2.0 with over-the-air updates and Digital Key 2.0

Buyers can choose a 6-seater with second-row captain chairs or a 7-seater with a 60:40 split bench. The third row folds 50:50.

Kia Sorento 2026 Safety and ADAS

Every Sorento gets seven airbags as standard, rising to ten on higher trims. Standard kit includes ESC, four-wheel disc brakes, hill-start assist, downhill brake control, a tyre pressure monitor, ISOFIX anchors and seatbelt reminders for all passengers.

The ADAS suite is Level 2+, with Highway Driving Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic assist and remote smart parking. A 360-degree camera with a blind-view monitor in the cluster and 12 parking sensors round it out. I could not find an Indian (Bharat NCAP) or Global NCAP crash rating for the India-spec car yet, so treat the safety story as equipment-led until a test result is published.

Kia Sorento 2026 vs Rivals

Kia is aiming the Sorento at the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner and the upper trims of the Mahindra XUV700. Here is how it positions itself against them:

  • Against the Kodiaq and Tayron: Kia positions the Sorento as longer and wider than most of its rivals, with a strong-hybrid AWD option as its main talking point. Compare current Skoda and Volkswagen pricing and powertrains before deciding.
  • Against the Fortuner: different philosophies. The Fortuner is body-on-frame and built for rough use; the Sorento’s monocoque is better suited to comfort and highway driving.
  • Against the Meridian and XUV700: compare ex-showroom prices at similar trim levels. The Sorento will need to justify any premium with space, features and the hybrid system.

If you want a plug-in hybrid at a lower price, look at the MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV, which we covered at launch.

Which Kia Sorento Variant Should You Buy?

This is our analysis based on the price list, not a long-term test.

  • Best value: an HTK or HTK(A) diesel. You get the diesel’s torque at roughly ₹32.5 to ₹33.5 lakh, before the jump to AWD trims.
  • Best for city-heavy use: a hybrid HTK(A). The extra ₹1.5 lakh over diesel only pays off if the hybrid delivers meaningfully better real-world efficiency in your traffic, so verify that first.
  • Best for hill roads and mixed terrain: an HTX with AWD, since AWD starts at this trim.
  • Best for chauffeur-driven families: a 6-seater with captain chairs, at ₹20,000 over the 7-seater.
  • Entry point: the HTE is the cheapest way in, and HTE(O) adds ₹1.5 lakh. Launch coverage did not detail the feature split between them, so ask the dealer exactly what the optional pack adds.

Our Verdict on the Kia Sorento 2026

The Kia Sorento 2026 is a strong debut for Kia in the premium three-row segment. It brings size, a loaded cabin, Level 2+ ADAS and a hybrid AWD option that few rivals match. The open questions are real-world fuel efficiency, crash-test results and how Kia’s pricing holds up once the introductory prices end. Test drive both engines before booking.
